About Us

Miss Leslie

Leslie is excited to be part of the team of teachers at Cornerstone Academy Preschool. She has been teaching preschool for 13 years and says that it is truly her "Dream Job". She feels that there is nothing more rewarding than the expression of joy on a child's face when they master new skills. Her goal is to make the children's first learning experience at preschool successful and happy. Miss Leslie attended the University of Utah and studied Early Childhood Development and Education. She had the opportunity to write the preschool curriculum for a charter school in Draper. She and her husband George have lived in the Sandy area for 26 years. She has 4 children and 5 grandchildren - whom she adores!

Miss Sandy

Sandy grew up in Murray, Utah and attended college at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She worked as an internal auditor for Thiokol Corporation and then Banking Manger and Director of Finance at the Corporate Office of Smith’s Food and Drug Centers. In 1998, Sandy “retired” from the accounting profession to raise her family. She is involved in her church and community where she volunteers in various capacities. Her hobbies include cross stitching and cooking. While she loves to travel, especially to Mount Rushmore, her favorite place is home with her family. Sandy has been married for 21 years and is the mother of 5 children. She is excited to have the opportunity to teach at Cornerstone because she loves working with young children and knows the importance of early childhood learning.

Miss Shannon

Shannon graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City. She attended the University of Utah and studied Nursing. She was married in 1989 to her best friend and can't believe it has already been 24 years ago. She has 3 girls and 2 boys ( 1 who is a son-in-law). She loves to spend time with her family whenever possible. She has been teaching preschool for 8 years. She was so excited to join Cornerstone Academy Preschool as an educator. This has been her favorite and most rewarding paying job. She gets attached very fast to her little students and it is very hard for her to see them go to Kindergarten. But she knows they will be the smartest children in their class!
